Youngs_April_Fools_V2Young’s Seafood today announces that it is set to open a fine dining seafood restaurant in Grimsby – exclusively for cats.

It’s no secret that Brits love their cats, there are 7.9million kept as pets in the UK, so Young’s has decided to widen the net from its range of fish dishes for humans to open a restaurant catering exclusively for feline family members.

Malcolm’s Cat Café, named in honour of the cat in the Young’s adverts, will serve a selection of dishes from the Young’s range including steamed fish on a bed of crispy biscuits with a sprig of catnip along with a choice of milks and waters all selected by a Young’s Sommelier.

Guests will enter the restaurant on Grimsby Docks through a catflap to dine from specially designed bone china bowls. After their meals diners will be led by their meowtre d’ through to a luxurious stretching room to recline with a selection of finest catnips, all at prices that mean no one needs to put too much into the kitty.

A spokesperson for Young’s Seafood, said: “This will be the UK’s first restaurant catering exclusively for cats. We’ve been helping humans make their own irresistible fish dishes at home for over 200 years but we all know cats like to be pampered too – we can’t wait to see the cats of Grimsby tucking into a range of purrfect meals.”

The café is set to open later this year for an initial three-month period, with plans to expand to open sites in Catford, Purley and Felixstowe
