The Cleethorpes Carnival, which is supported by Young’s Seafood Limited, is announcing that it is set to benefit from a generous donation from the Sylvester Keal Group. The Grimsby based company, which has over 25 years’ experience in the catering business, will once again donate brand new hand held collection boxes. Every year the Cleethorpes Carnival raises thousands of pounds for worthwhile charities, which would not be possible without the tireless work of charity fundraisers shaking their collection boxes. Over time the goodwill of the Grimsby people has worn out the carnivals collection boxes, but this year on Saturday 18th July 2015 the carnival route will be lined with the brand new boxes thanks to the local company. This move follows the announcement last year that Young’s Seafood Limited, which specialises in supplying delicious fish and seafood, will again be sponsoring the 2015 Cleethorpes Carnival.

Commenting on the latest donation, Pete Ward, Chief Executive of Young’s Seafood Limited, said: “As proud sponsors of the Cleethorpes Carnival, we are delighted that this local company is again contributing the much needed donation boxes. The more boxes being shaken on the day, the more money we can raise for the carnival entrants’ chosen charities. The Carnival has been part of our community since 1976 and its continued popularity is testament to how much it means to everyone here in North East Lincolnshire. We hope that this year, more and more people will come and join us from all over the UK.”

Phil Barrett, Facilities Manager at Young’s Seafood Limited and a member of the Cleethorpes Carnival Parade Committee added: “The Cleethorpes Carnival is an important part of our local heritage and every year it helps to bring together our wonderful community. We, along with Cleethorpes Events, are delighted that Sylvester Keal have again supported such a worthwhile cause and we’re looking forward to shaking boxes, and collecting money for charity, on the day.”

Irene Keal, Director of Sylvester Keal, said: “We love the Cleethorpes Carnival and we’re very happy to have an opportunity to support such a fantastic event again this year. As a local business, supporting the Carnival and the local community is very important to us. We are delighted to be part of the event and we look forward to welcoming even more people to this year’s Carnival.”

Young’s Seafood Limited stepped in in late 2012 to provide support for the Carnival and ensure it would return to the streets of Cleethorpes in 2013 after its future looked uncertain. Since then with the help of Young’s and other local businesses, the Carnival has gone from strength to strength with two outstanding events in 2013 and 2014 bringing thousands of people to North East Lincolnshire to enjoy the music, dancers and entertainers who make up this important community parade. The generosity of the crowds at the 2014 Carnival saw £4,000 raised that went to 47 local causes.
