There is now just one week to go until Cleethorpes Carnival and Young’s Seafood Limited, the Carnival’s main sponsors, are delighted to reveal the final two acts for the biggest day in the Cleethorpes summer calendar.
Following on from last week’s announcement that the wacky and wonderful Dress Circle would be taking to the streets of Cleethorpes to astound and amaze visitors from up and down the country, two more incredible acts have been added to the bill. Bloco Fogo are a samba band who play the beats and rhythms of Brazil, Cuba and Africa. They even throw in the occasional chart hit.
Bloco Fogo are a client of entertainment agency, Joogleberry Acts, and MD Sue Popper commented: “Bloco Fogo are a wonderful carnival band who play across the country and beyond. They love playing at Cleethorpes and can’t wait to entertain everyone at the parade this Saturday!”
Saurus are an act that truly must be seen to be believed. These giant, prehistoric beasts are presented by world-renowned street theatre group, Close-Act, and have performed at festivals and carnivals across the world. This weekend the people of Cleethorpes will be able to walk among the dinosaurs as the Sauruses join them on Saturday for the Carnival. Close-Act have been working alongside Joogleberry Acts, with Sue Popper commenting: “Joogleberry is proud to present Saurus to Cleethorpes Carnival and Saurus can’t wait to amaze the crowds on Saturday!”
Over 40,000 people attended the Carnival in 2015, and this year the Carnival has received well over double the number of parade-applicants. This year is shaping up to be even better than last year’s record-breaking extravaganza. The Carnival’s main sponsors Young’s Seafood Limited are reminding people to get down to Cleethorpes on Saturday 16th July to witness one of the community’s favourite traditions and see all the floats, dancers, and performers as they make their way through the streets of Cleethorpes.
