Young’s Seafood Limited Announces Pleasure Island As Carnival’s Finale And Invites Parade Participants

Young’s Seafood Limited are delighted to announce that following this summer’s Cleethorpes Carnival parade Pleasure Island will be providing free family entertainment.

After the Carnival’s famous floats have paraded through the streets of Cleethorpes, visitors can head to Pleasure Island’s on-site bar and restaurant, McCormack’s, for an evening of free family entertainment.

Pete Ward, Young’s Chief Executive, commented: “At Young’s Seafood Limited we look forward to the Cleethorpes Carnival every year. Our staff work tirelessly to ensure the Carnival is a fun day out for all the family and we want to thank Pleasure Island for providing free evening entertainment following the parade.”

Carnival goers will be treated to a show from The African Acrobats, Pleasure Island’s in-house acrobatics show, as they perform dare devil stunts and limbo under a pole that lies just 25cm off the ground. For younger visitors the line up will also include Mr Shiny; one of Britain’s best-loved children’s entertainers, he’s endorsed by Lincs FM and has performed on stage with Joe Pasquale. The day’s entertainment will be capped off by a family cabaret performance with the venue open until 11pm.

Melanie Wood, Managing Director, Pleasure Island added, “The carnival has always been a great day out for the people of Cleethorpes and thanks to the tremendous support from Young’s Seafood, it promises to be a huge success yet again. Pleasure Island is thrilled to be associated with such a positive, local event. To avoid the disappointment of the carnival fun ending, Pleasure Island invites the people of Cleethorpes to enjoy free, evening, family fun in McCormacks Bar. Let the fun continue.”

The Cleethorpes Carnival is a community tradition that attracted over 40,000 people last year and the organisers are expecting even more people to take part this year. With excitement already building, Young’s Seafood Limited are inviting families, residents and local businesses to get involved in the festivities and get their forms sent in by 11th July.

If you would like to enter the parade with a float, pedestrian group or small vehicle, please click here and download the entry forms, rules and regulations, fill in the paperwork and return to Leanor Pidgen at the address marked on the forms. We understand you may not be able to give all the information required straight away but please still submit your entry form and then follow on with the remaining details as and when you get them.

We will confirm receipt of your entry form so if you do not hear from us within a few weeks of submitting your form, please contact us. The Cleethorpes Carnival committee reserves the right to reject any entry not deemed suitable for the parade.

In July there will then be a meeting at Cleethorpes Memorial Hall. You will need to attend this meeting as we will be distributing your parade number, collection bucket/tins and any other relevant information you will need.
