Young’s Seafood Limited is delighted to announce that this summer’s upcoming Cleethorpes Carnival has already received over 30 entrants for the festivities on 16th July. This is over double the number of entrants compared to this time last year and further proof that the 2016 Carnival is shaping up to be the best one yet!
However, the preparations aren’t yet finished and Carnival sponsors Young’s Seafood Limited are inviting even more of you to take part in this year’s celebrations. There’s still plenty of time and all you need to do is follow the simple steps below and in July you too can make your way through the streets of Cleethorpes alongside a huge number of floats, dancers, and performers and take part in one of the community’s favourite traditions.
Leanor Pidgen, Parade Committee Member, Cleethorpes Events commented, “The Cleethorpes Carnival is such a wonderful local event and every year the staff at Young’s Seafood Limited work so hard to make sure all the plans come together in time for the July parade. Without this vital support we wouldn’t have a Carnival in Cleethorpes and we would have lost this beloved community tradition which now celebrates it’s 41st year. I want to thank Young’s Seafood and all of our incredible volunteers who give up their free time months ahead of the Carnival to help plan such a fantastic day out for all the family.”
Over 40,000 people attended last year and this is partly in thanks to Cleethorpes Carnival’s wonderful local sponsors and the continuing support of the North Lincolnshire community. Young’s Seafood Limited are looking to build on the great work of the community by bettering that number this year. And that can be made possible by you just by signing up, so why not enter today? Whether you want to join as an individual, as a couple, group, or school, just fill in the form and send it in before 11th July.
If you would like to enter the parade with a float, pedestrian group or small vehicle, please head to cleethorpescarnival.co.uk and download the entry forms, rules and regulations, fill in the paperwork and return to Leanor Pidgen at the address marked on the forms. We understand you may not be able to give all the information required straight away but please still submit your entry form and then follow on with the remaining details as and when you get them.
We will confirm receipt of your entry form so if you do not hear from us within a few weeks of submitting your form, please contact us. The Cleethorpes Carnival committee reserves the right to reject any entry not deemed suitable for the parade.
In July there will then be a meeting at Cleethorpes Memorial Hall. You will need to attend this meeting as we will be distributing your parade number, collection bucket/tins and any other relevant information you will need.
Young’s Seafood Limited would also like to remind anyone who has not collected a cheque for their charity from last year’s Carnival to please do so as soon as possible.
