Young’s Seafood Limited and Cleethorpes Events are delighted to announce today that the official Launch Party for the 40th Cleethorpes Carnival will take place at 6pm on the 2nd February at Memorial Hall in Cleethorpes. The Launch Party is an opportunity to find out all about the exciting plans for this year’s Carnival, set to take place on 18th July, and how you can take part. The organisers are hoping to attract even more people from around the UK to attend the Carnival this year and would like to warmly welcome everyone to come along to the Launch Party.

Since stepping in in late 2012 to support the Carnival after its future looked uncertain, Young’s Seafood Limited has seen the Carnival go from strength to strength with last year’s event raising a whopping £4,000 for 47 local causes. Pete Ward CEO of Young’s Seafood, who will be attending the party, commented: “The Cleethorpes Carnival is hugely important to us at Young’s, because it brings people together and helps to raise money for worthwhile causes, as well as being a great day out. Now celebrating its 40th year, many people have grown up with the Carnival and this tradition is now part of our heritage. 2015 will also be a year of celebrations for Young’s Seafood as we mark the 30 year anniversary of our Chip Shop brand and we’re thrilled to kick off these celebrations by launching this year’s Carnival at the Launch Party. The Carnival wouldn’t exist without the hard work of all the volunteers, everyone who supports the event, everyone who takes part and everyone who comes along to watch. Everyone is welcome at the Carnival and we hope you’ll bring your friends, family and neighbours along to get involved in the celebrations.”

Leonore Pidgen, Parade Committee Member, Cleethorpes Events stated: “At Cleethorpes Events we look forward to the Carnival every year and we’re excited to once again be working with the Young’s Seafood Limited team, who work so hard to make sure that each Carnival is a truly unforgettable experience! Last year the support we received from the community and from local businesses was amazing. Businesses donated their time, transport, construction expertise and even collection buckets to the Carnival and people came from across the country to Cleethorpes to attend. This year we want to repeat this success and so we’re on a mission to get as many people involved as possible to help make this the best Carnival yet!”

The first Cleethorpes Carnival took place in 1976 and it has been staged every year since. Young’s Seafood and Cleethorpes Events are inviting everyone who would like to support this year’s Cleethorpes Carnival to come along to the launch party – whether you want to join the parade, enter your child in this year’s Carnival Prince and Princess competition or if you’re a local business and you want to help raise money for charity – there’s something everyone can do to help make the 2015 Carnival extra special.

2015 is already turning out to be a busy year for Young’s Seafood with the news of the 2015 Cleethorpes Carnival launch coming only a week after the launch of their new advert, featuring a new favourite, Malcolm the discerning foodie cat, voiced by Hollywood actor Rupert Everett.
