Young’s Seafood, the UK’s leading fish and seafood company, has announced that it has renewed its sponsorship of the Great Grimsby 10K race for 2022.

The sponsorship marks the sixth year that Young’s has supported the event, having first got involved in 2016.

The 2022 race takes place on Sunday June 5th and will start at Grimsby Town Hall from 9am. Entry to next year’s race is open on the event’s website.

Despite COVID limitations, the 2021 race was a huge success attracting 1,700 runners of all ages and abilities and was a fantastic event for the Grimsby community.

And again for 2022 whether you’re a fun runner just out to keep fit or take your running a little more seriously there are categories for everyone including under 20’s, corporate, running club challenges and veterans. Further details will be announced on New Year’s Day next year.

Simon Smith, CEO at Young’s said: “We’re very proud to be sponsoring the Great Grimsby 10K race once again in 2022 and to be continuing our involvement with the event for the sixth consecutive year.

“It’s hugely important to us at Young’s to be involved with and support the people of Grimsby as much as possible, especially during times when community spirit and the health and wellbeing of our local residents is more crucial than ever and the race is a fantastic way to do that.”

Nicola Pattison, managing director of event organiser Tape2Tape said: “We are delighted that Young’s Seafood are continuing their very kind support of this race as one of our key sponsors.

“We are very proud of this fantastic event that has a real community following from the people of Grimsby. It is also a favourite on the running calendar for runners from far and wide.

“Young’s support will enable us to continue supporting the many local charities and community groups that benefit and enjoy participating in this event.

“We are already planning a big celebration race next June and will ensure that this race is safe and enjoyable for all.”
