Young’s Seafood, the UK’s leading fish and seafood company, has announced that it has renewed its sponsorship of Grimsby Town Football Club for the 20/21 season.
This continued commitment marks one of the longest standing corporate sponsorships in British football, as this will be Young’s 17th consecutive year as the Mariners main shirt sponsor.
Announced ahead of the club’s latest kit launch, which features Young’s instantly recognisable logo, the sponsorship also includes the Young’s Stand which first appeared for the 2016/2017 season. Employees of Young’s Seafood can also receive a 10% discount on season tickets.
Simon Smith, CEO at Young’s said: “Both Young’s and Grimsby Town Football Club play pivotal roles in supporting the communities that make up our town.
“For the last 16 years we have jointly promoted health, wellbeing and inclusivity and we are proud to be continuing our support of the club.
“Our commitment is especially important in the face of challenging times ahead for many spectator sports including football. We look forward to the coming season and working with the club to help them get back to playing as soon as possible.”
Philip Day, Chairman at Grimsby Town FC said: “We are delighted to have renewed our sponsorship deal with Young’s and to wear its logo for yet another year.
“COVID-19 has placed a significant strain on football, especially for those in League 1 and 2, who were unable to restart the 2019-20 season.
“This latest deal with Young’s has been a lifeline for the club in supporting us as we work to try and get back onto the pitch and until we are able to welcome our supporters back to Blundell Park.”
